I didn't know what I wanted to do when I left school, so I took a year out. During that time, I focused on figuring out how I wanted to work rather than what I wanted to do. Over time, it became clear that I was interested in a fast paced environment where I would constantly be challenged.
I was already curious about the London startup scene, and that led me to explore opprtunities where the action was happening, in Old street/Shoreditch. I heard about a new incubator that was opening up with the aim to help entrepreneurs from all walks of life (hint: It was Launch22) and so I applied for an internship.
Since then, I've grown with the company and am where I am today through hard work, perseverence and a little luck.
A Day In My Shoes
My main role is to keep the business running on a day-to-day basis. That means that one of my main functions is managing current team to make sure they are all on task, as well as training incoming team members so that they can make an impact from the moment they start.
I'm also heavily invovled in respresenting the business wherever and whenever I can: going to events and meetups making sure to network throughout. And of course, I spend time practicsing and showcasing my foosball skills.
What I Love Most
There are a lot of exciting parts!
My job is great because it means I get to meet a large, eclectic mix of people on a daily basis. I also love being responsible for organising an enthusiastic and youthful team.
And of course, working at an incubator means that it's rewarding to know that I'm , even in a round-about way, facilitating these members dreams of running a successful business.
Launch22 was set up with the aim to help entrepreneurs from all walks of life.
We achieve this by offering workspace, events and mentoring designed to help you and your startup. This is all done within our incubator space in the heart of London’s tech sector, just off of Old St.
